Uniformed Leaders
The uniformed leadership of the pack consists of the Cubmaster, Den Leaders and their assistants. These are the adult who deliver the Scouting program to the youth. All meetings and activities must maintain two-deep leadership at all times. If a female youth is attending then one of those registered leaders needs to also be a female. If for some reason two registered leaders cannot be present, the meeting or activity will be cancelled.
Cubmaster

Conduct a pack program according to the policies of Scouting America.

Plan and help carry out the Cub Scout program in the pack. This includes leading the monthly pack meeting, with the help of other leaders.

Help the pack committee with a year-round recruitment plan for recruiting youth
-
Know about and use the appropriate and available literature, including Scouts Life and Scouting magazines, and on-line Leader Guides.

Work with the pack committee on (1) program ideas, (2) selecting and recruiting adult leaders, and (3) establishing a budget plan.

Attend District’s monthly roundtable meetings.
-
Help establish and maintain good relationships with Scouts BSA troops.
-
Store pack flags and bring them to pack meetings.
-
See that all Scouts receive a quality, year-round program filled with fun and activities.
-
Guide Cub Scouts in goodwill and conservation projects.
-
See that the responsibilities specified for the assistant Cubmaster are carried out.

Help the pack committee chair conduct the annual pack program planning conference and the monthly pack leaders’ meetings.

Work as a team with the pack committee chair to cultivate, educate, and motivate all pack leaders and parents or guardians in Cub Scouting.

Request den chiefs for all dens and, after selection, see that they are trained. Recognize the den chiefs at pack meetings.

Work with Den Leaders to ensure program is being delivered and scouts are advancing.

Meet with the unit commissioner, Arrow of Light den leader, and Scoutmaster to establish plans for the transition to Scouts BSA.

Help plan and conduct impressive Arrow of Light graduation ceremonies involving parents and guardians, the Scoutmaster, the den chief, the den leader, and the troop junior leaders.

Encourage high advancement standards from all Cub Scouts.

Help set a good example for the scouts through behavior, attitude, and proper uniforming.
Assistant Cubmaster

Helps the Cubmaster perform the above tasks and serves as a backup in the event the Cubmaster is unavailable.

Participate in pack meetings.

Supervise den chiefs and see that they are trained.
-
Conduct the monthly den chief planning meeting for all den leaders, assistant den leaders, and den chiefs to plan and coordinate weekly den meetings and pack meeting participation.

Work with neighborhood troops that supply den chiefs and into which Webelos Scouts may graduate.

Work with the pack committee to develop and promote an ongoing plan for recruiting new youth.

Attend District’s monthly roundtable meetings.

Help with pack activities, such as dinners, derbies, bike safety workshops, service projects, etc.

Assist the Cubmaster in running the Pack Meetings, outings and Summertime Events.

Participate in the annual pack program planning conference and pack leaders’ meetings.

Promote the religious emblems program.

Help set a good example for the scouts through behavior, attitude, and proper uniforming.
Den Leaders (all dens)

Plans the den’s weekly/monthly den meetings.
-
Leads the den at monthly pack meetings.
-
Attend Pack meetings, Pack Committee meetings and the District’s monthly roundtable meetings.

Use Scout's Life and Scouting magazines, on-line leader guides, the scout’s handbooks, and other Cub Scouting literature as sources for program ideas.

Encourage Cub Scouts to earn advancement awards. Keep accurate advancement records in Scoutbook and see that the scouts receive recognition for their achievements.

Promote the religious emblems program.

Help establish a close working relationship with the assistant den leader and den chief, functioning as a den leadership team.

Develop and maintain a good working relationship and open communication with den families. Use their talents to help enrich the den program. Hold den adults’ meetings as often as needed to get acquainted with family members and strengthen den operation.

See that a leader is available for all den meetings and activities. Call on the assistant den leader to fill in when necessary.

Take part in the annual pack program planning conference and pack leaders’ meetings.

Work with Cubmaster to ensure scouts are advancing and program is being delivered.
Arrow of Light Den Leader

With the help of the Cubmaster, pack committee, and unit commissioner, determine one or more neighborhood Scouts BSA troops into which AoL Scouts may be graduated, and establish a good working relationship with those troops. Try to graduate every AoL Scout into a troop.

Work with the Scoutmaster and assistant Scoutmaster to plan and conduct meaningful joint activities.

Work with Cubmaster to see that impressive graduation ceremonies are conducted in the pack. Invite the Scoutmaster and troop leaders to take part.

Encourage parents or guardians of AoL Scouts to help plan and carry out overnight campouts and other outdoor activities. Work with the troop Assistant Scoutmaster or Scoutmaster to arrange for the loan of troop equipment for join AoL den-troop activities.

Lion Den Leader

Works directly with other den and pack leaders to ensure that their den is an active and successful part of the pack.

Plans and prepares for initial Lion den meeting and outing.

Mentors adult partners in the delivery of their particular den meetings.

Attends pack leaders’ meetings.

Leads the den at the monthly meeting an pack activities.
-
Ensures the transition of scouts in the Lion den into a Tiger den at the end of the year.

Prepares Lions for day camp at the end of the Lion year.

Coordinates shared leadership among the Lion adult partners, ensuring that each Lion and their adult partner get to be the host team to plan and execute the den activities.

Tiger Den Leader

Coordinate shared leadership among the Tiger Scout adult partners in the den.

Ensure that each Tiger Scout and their adult partner have the opportunity to be the host team, planning and executing the den activities, rotating responsibilities monthly.

Make pack and den resources available to the host team, ensuring the completion of the den component of the Tiger Scout advancement requirements.
