Pack Committee
The Pack Committee includes a number of parents who arrange outings, create newsletters, plan fundraising activities, handle public relations, put on the Blue and Gold Banquet, coordinate membership, track advancement, plan the Pinewood Derby race, maintain the website, etc.
Committee Chair
-
Develop an agenda and chair monthly committee meetings to plan and promote the Pack activities.

Work with Cubmaster to coordinate Pack activities.

Coordination of event volunteers.
-
Work with leadership team on money-earning projects so the pack can earn money for materials and equipment.

Conduct summer planning meeting to develop a school year calendar of the Pack’s events.
-
Attend Pack meetings and the District’s monthly roundtable meetings.
-
Work with the Pack Treasurer to complete the annual Pack Charter in compliance with District/Council guidelines.

Serve as primary contact with Chartered Organization (Grace Church), District and Council.

Coordinate Fall & Spring membership drive.
Advancement
-
Obtain den advancement reports for use when ordering badges and insignia from local council service center.

Fill out advancement forms for council service center, create order to be place with the Scout Shop, and arrange for pick-up of advancements.

Organize badges and label them for distribution.

Bring advancements to the Pack meeting and give them to the Cubmaster.

Help plan and conduct advancement recognition ceremonies and graduation ceremonies with the Cubmaster and Den Leaders.
Treasurer

Collect revenues for registration, patches & books from new Scouts during recruitment round-up.

Collect registration fees for re-charter from returning Scouts.

Gather revenues from fundraisers, pay bills and reimbursements expenses.

Create monthly report for Pack Committee on financial status and budget questions.

Keep Bank signatures and financial records up-to-date and maintain Scout and general financial accounts.
Secretary
-
Keep informed of all Cub Scouting literature, materials, records, and forms to help leaders function effectively. Help new den leaders by telling them what resources are available.

Maintain up-to-date information on membership, leadership, and attendance.

Maintain an inventory of pack property.

Produce Pack minutes for each Pack Committee Meeting.

Handle correspondence for the pack. This may include writing letters of appreciation and requests for reservations.

Keep notes on business conducted at Pack Committee meetings. Record only key items such as things needing follow-up or items for the history of the pack.
Membership

Attend recruiting leader meetings.

Work with Committee Chair to Organize Fall & Spring recruiting events.

Work with pack committee members to promote recruitment plans.

Work with the Cubmaster and pack committee to develop and carry out a plan for year-round membership growth.

Follow up on Cub Scout dropouts to help return them to full, active membership.
Public Relations/Communications

Promote family participation in all pack events, such as blue and gold banquets, and other special events.

Publicize and promote pack participation in Scouting Anniversary Week activities.

Circulate recruiting fliers and leaflets to invite youth to join. Work with the pack committee to promote new membership. Let the people in the neighborhood know that a Cub Scout pack is available.

Consider using a monthly pack newsletter to inform families of pack plans, guide new parents and guardians in pack policies, and create a feeling of unity among members of the pack family.

Make use of the news media in publicizing pack events by providing articles to the newspaper.

Utilize social media platforms to promote the pack
Chartered Organization Representative (COR)

Serves as a liaison between the charter organization and the Cub Scout Pack

Responsible for representing the Pack to the Charter Organization

Relays the information from the Chartering Organization to the Pack Committee

Approves applicants for Pack adult leadership positions
New Member Coordinator

A FUN and engaging position.

Form relationships with new members and their families.

Use a team approach by encouraging more than one NMC in a unit, allowing them to tailor their work to individual interests / expertise, as well as to recognize the particular needs of the unit.

Be visible and easily identifiable at unit gatherings by their Welcoming smiles and their BSA “Welcome” logo that they display and wear on an activity shirt, on a hat or vest or in some cases, a pin on a field uniform.
Committee Member

All parents are automatically considered to be a committee member of Pack 11.

Attends committee and planning meetings to plan and coordinate Pack activities so all Cub Scouts receive a year-round quality program.

Attends Fall & Spring membership drive.
